Bhubaneswar, Nov 1:

Odisha’s Athagarh MLA Raja Swain today faced opposition from locals in his constituency during the last leg of Biju Janata Dal’s Janasamparka yatra.

Hundreds of activists were seen sloganeering against swain across several villages under Brahmapur panchayat under Choudwar block where Swain’s entourage passed through.

Swain, on the other hand, tried to play down the incident.

“These are part and parcel of a politician’s life. Those who were opposing are a bunch whose interests are being hurt. It will not affect the party in any way,” he said.

It may be noted here that two factions of BJD clashed with each other leading to injuries to two women during one of Swain’s rallies in his constituency earlier on October 24.

Jayadev -Khurda MLA Sashi Bhusan Behera also faced a similar situation during the Janasamparka yatra in his constituency.

The yatra is in the last leg and would come to an end tomorrow.
