Bhubaneswar, June 2:
The local Met office has predicted rainfall in most parts of Odisha in the next 72 hours as a result of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.
“A cyclonic circulation has formed over Odisha under the influence of a trough line. Under the influence, most parts of the state would receive light to moderate rainfall in the next 72 hours. Besides, thunder squall, accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind speed of 60-70 kmph, may occur at one or two places over the state during the next 48 hours”, a release by the Met office said here this evening.
The release, however, warned that the temperature would rise sharply in the next four days from June 5 and touch 45 degree in some places in the western Odisha districts.
Meanwhile, temperature remained normal in most parts of the state except in three places where it crossed 40 degree Celsius.
While Bhawanipatna was the hottest place in the state today with 41.8 degree, Titlagarh and Sambalpur recorded 41.5 and 40 degree respectively.
