Bhubaneswar, Sept 4:
Rain/thundershower will continue across Odisha while extremely heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places in certain parts of North Odisha during the next 24 hours, the local Met Centre said in its afternoon bulletin today.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in south Odisha during this period and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 45-55 kmph, gusting to 65 kmph, may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, it added.
According to the bulletin, a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood persists today and extends upto mid-tropospheric level. Under its influence, a low pressure area may form over north-west Bay of Bengal and it neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.
Yesterday’s low pressure area over over south-east Rajasthan and its neighbourhood now lies over west Rajasthan and its neighbourhood. Other low pressure over Saurashtra & Kutch and adjoining north-east Arabian Sea now lies over Kutch and its neighbourhood today, it informed.
Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea.
