Bhubaneswar, June 11:
The hope of rains offering some relief to the people in Odisha from the extended heat wave appears a shade remote.
Meanwhile, heat wave persisted across most of the western Odisha districts today with Titlagarh topping the chart with 44 degree Celsius, followed by Hirakud and Sambalpur (43.6 each), Jharsuguda (43.5), Sonepur (42.8), Malkangiri (42.2), Bhawanipatna (41.7), Bolangir (41) and Talcher (40).
The situation in coastal Odisha was hardly any better with the maximum average humidity touching 85 percent.
