Railway employees today staged a dharna in front of the Coaching Depot office of the Indian Railways in Odisha’s holy town Puri over the death of a Railways employee due to alleged negligence of doctors at the district headquarters hospital.
Keeping the deceased employee’s body in front of the office agitators demanded a modern hospital for Railway employees at Puri, reports said.
As per reports, Ramachandra Murmu, an engineer serving with the Railways on complaining of pain in his chest was admitted to the district headquarters hospital. Murmu passed away at the hospital while undergoing treatment.
The deceased’s family members have, however, alleged that his death was caused due to medical negligence.
On the other hand, hospital authorities have refuted the allegations and have said that there was no negligence in the treatment of the deceased.
