Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off a new DMU train between Rourkela and Sambalpur through a video conferencing from Hatia today.
An advanced version in comparison to the already plying between the two cities, the DMU has both side engines. Besides, it has bio-toilet in it as per government’s plan to keep the tracks clean.
Apart from the two engines, it has six coaches in it and is faster than the one running now.
As per the schedule, 78103 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela DMU will leave Rourkela at 0725 hours daily except Sunday and arrive at Sambalpur at 1055 hours on the same day.
In the return direction, 78104 Sambalpur-Rourkela DMU will leave Sambalpur at 1140 hours daily except Sunday and will arrive at Rourkela at 1605 hours.
The train will have stoppages at Panposh, Kalunga, Kansbahal, Rajgangpur, Sonakhan, Sagra, Garposh, Tangarmunda, Bamra, Dharuadih, Bagdehi, Panpali, Dhutra, Jharsuguda, Brundamal, Lapanga, Rengali, Sason & Sambalpur Road between Rourkela and Sambalpur.
