The Chandrasekharpur police today arrested Biswanath Sahoo, prime accused in the East Coast Railway (ECoR) job fraud case, for allegedly duping job seekers to the tune of Rs 2 crore.


Sahoo, who was arrested from Jajpur, will be forwarded to court today and the Commissionerate Police is likely to seek his remand to divulge more information from him regarding the defrauding, sources said.

According to reports, Sahoo had collected huge amount from job aspirants on the pretext of appointing them in ECoR. He used to give them fake appointment letters which were later found to be forged.

The Commissionerate Police had earlier arrested four persons, including a retired official of ECoR KC Bal, for their alleged involvement in the fraud.
