Raids against hoarding of pulses continue in Odisha

Officials of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare  Department today continued their raid for the sixth consecutive day during the crackdown against hoarding of pulses in the godowns across Odisha.


So far, the officials have managed to seize 1449 quintals of pulses from Narayani traders of Desibehera lane in Brahmapur today. Raids continued at various godowns at Bada Bazaar, Marthapeta, Desibehera and Raja sahi of the southern Odisha town.

Notably, the administration had raided eight godowns of Brahmapur yesterday and had seized 2371 quintals of pulses from Dhabaleshwar traders.  Besides, the raiding parties had also found out that two of the godowns did not have the valid licenses.

While the officials carried out raids at several places of Koraput including Sundabeda and Similiguda today, no illegal stashing have been discovered.

The Civil Supplies Department is carrying out raids at various places of the state based on the intelligence passed on by state intelligence unit.
