Koraput, Oct 19:
Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who visited the Hudhud-ravaged Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, is scheduled to visit two cyclone hit areas in Odisha’s Koraput district on Monday.
Koraput being a Maoist affected district, security has been tightened ahead of Rahul’s visit, sources in the police said.
IGP (South-Western Range) Y K Jethwa told newsmen that elaborate security arrangements have been made for Rahul Gandhi’s visit. He said ahead of his visit the liaising team of SPG has arrived in Koraput and all the security aspects are being discussed with them in detail.
Sources said Rahul will be protected by a three-tier security ring. While the inner security ring will be managed by the SPG, the two outer security rings will be handled by paramilitary forces and the state police.
