Bhubaneswar, Oct 17:
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit the Hudhud-affected areas in south Odisha on October 20.
The Congress vice-president will be visiting Malkangiri as well as Jeypore, Pottangi and Laxmipur in Koraput district during his visit apart from addressing a farmers rally at Jeypore, former Congress MP from Nabarangpur Pradip Majhi said this evening.
The details of Rahul’s visit are being worked out, he said.
State Congress president Jaydev Jena on Thursday had accused the BJP government at the Centre of adopting a step-motherly approach towards Odisha and slammed prime minister Narendra Modi for not announcing any assistance to Odisha, which was hit by Cyclone Hudhud.
Jena had said while Modi visited cyclone-hit areas of Andhra Pradesh and held a review meeting at Visakhapatnam, he did not bother to tour any of the affected places in Odisha.
