Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has expressed his desire to visit Odisha soon.
This was revealed after the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan and Leader of the Opposition Narasingh Mishra met him in New Delhi on Monday evening.
“The meeting primarily discussed about the strengthening of party organisational in the state and how the people would trust the party,” Harichandan told reporters after the meeting.
He said Rahul Gandhi has already given his consent to visit Odisha very soon.
“Now the monsoon is active in the state. Besides, efforts are on for reorganisation of the PCC. We would announce the the list of new PCC office-bearers very soon. After the completion of this process, Rahul’s visit to the state would be finalised,” Harichandan added.
The Opposition leader said Rahul had called them up to discuss about the party organisation in the state.
“The PCC had earlier apprised the Congress vice president of the statewide agitation it had taken up against the ruling BJD government on various issues. The discussion was mainly on the party’s reorganisation in the state”, Mishra said.
