Bhubaneswar, Apr 30:
The three-member departmental investigating committee today submitted its report on the sexual harassment allegation brought against an assistant professor of the university to the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Odisha University of Agricultural Technology (OUAT).
VC Manoranjan Kar has assured to look into the report and take necessary action as per the recommendations of the committee.
It may be noted that the VC had formed the committee after a sodomy allegation was brought by seven of the students against the Chemistry professor of OUAT’s Basic Science College on April 8.
The committee was supposed to submit its report by April 20. But the inquiry got delayed as the professor was initially on the run. Repeated questing sessions didn’t help either.
The students on the other hand, had written to the Police DG and Chief Minister’s Office to put pressure on OUAT authorities as we reported here: http://odishasuntimes.com/124981/odisha-cms-office-seeks-report-on-ouat-sodomy-case/
