Senior IPS officer and IG, Operations, Odisha Soumendra Priyadarshi who was appointed the Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Nabakalebara on Monday in addition to his existing responsibilities, took charge of his new assignment today.
After assuming office, the 1995 batch IPS officer sought everyone’s cooperation in the discharge of his new responsibility. He said he will work in coordination with all departments an agencies.
“Disciplined and smooth conduct of the rituals at the Shree Jagannath Temple and smooth darshan by devotees will be the top priority for me,” the senior officer said.
The state government on Monday clipped the wings of senior IAS officer Suresh Mohapatra, chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) by appointing Priyadarshi as the new OSD for Nabakalebara.
Mohapatra, principal secretary Energy was the OSD for Nabakalebara and the chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.
It may be mentioned that Priyadarshi was the SP of Puri twice and has the experience of conducting at least five Rath Yatras during his tenure and is said to have excellent relations with several of the servitors of the Shree Mandir.
