The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has decided to cancel the affiliation of private self-financing Plus Two colleges in Odisha having no infrastructure of their own from the current academic session.
“CHSE will upload a detailed infrastructure guideline on its website www.chseodisha.nic.in for private self-financing Plus Two colleges and ask them to meet these guidelines in a specified time frame. It has been decided that the CHSE team will later conduct a surprise visit to five colleges every month and review the existing infrastructure. If any college is found lacking in yhe desired infrastructure, the Council would initiate the process for cancellation of its affiliation with immediate effect,” CHSE chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi said.
He said the authorities of these private self-finance colleges will have to give a statement on the duration for which the institution were run om rented houses, the apparatus required for the laboratory, the amount of chemicals required for each student, student-teacher ratio, library facility with the number of books and the amount of library fee collected from the students, and the mode and amount of salary paid to the teachers and whether the teachers’ salary are credited to their bank account.
“Affiliation of these colleges will continue if they abide by these guidelines or else the CHSE would cancel their affiliation,” Chhatoi warned.
