Prime accused held for humiliating teacher in kangaroo court in Odisha

The prime accused in humiliating a teacher in a kangaroo court in Odisha’s Nayagarh district has been arrested today.


According to reports, the Itamati police today arrested Balarampur village committee president Baridhar Nayak for allegedly delivering the verdict in a kangaroo court where a teacher from neighbouring Baunsiapada village was subjected to inhuman treatment.

The teacher identified as Sridhar Nayak was beaten up and tortured in the kangaroo court on October 17.

Earlier on Saturday, two persons – Mayadhar Pradhan and Sanjay Pradhan were arrested by Itamati police.

The complainant was allegedly forced to negotiate through the stretched legs of Mayadhar Pradhan at the kangaroo court after being beaten up.
