One of the songs from Padma Patrare Jibana , a soul-stirring musical autobiography consisting of eight soulful songs of renowned fiction writer in contemporary India, Pratibha Ray was launched by ‘RAAGA” a reputed cultural organization based in Bhubaneswar recently in the Smart City. Her daughter and eminent singer Adyasha Das lent her voice to the songs .
A unique tribute to her celebrity mother, this gesture also witnessed the link and bonding between music and literature. Adyasha a gifted singer, known for her mellifluous voice and melodious rendition of both traditional and contemporary styles of music has excelled in rendering the eight songs which has been composed by the acclaimed music composer Om Prakash Mohanty. Prema eka eka , Basanta ferijiba pare , Aama milanara durata janicha ki and the other numbers mesmerised the audience with the beauty of its lyrics and music composition.
“I did not know that my autobiography will become a musical some day and my daughter will sing it,” said a very emotional Pratibha Ray. She is famous around the world for her stories depicting urbane milieu of Odia culture and tribal life. She has been conferred with many prestigious awards such as the Sahitya Akademi, Moortidevi, Jnanpith, Padma Shri, etc.
This album will be marketed internationally.
