Potato, onion godowns in Cuttack raided

In a belated move the market intelligence wing of the Food, Supplies & Consumer Welfare department of the Government of Odisha today raided several godowns belonging to traders who stock potatoes and onions here and examined their documents pertaining to the import of these common vegetables.

It may be mentioned that prices of these kitchen essentials nearly doubled over the last three weeks, while the the administration was busy with the elections in the state.
