Bhubaneswar, Mar 17 :
At least 14 people were drowned and six others went missing while taking bath in rivers and ponds after the Holi celebrations in Odisha on Monday afternoon.
In Bhubaneswar, two youths died while taking bath at Kuakhai river.
In another incident, a youth of Uttara village near Bhubaneswar died after Holi under mysterious circumstances.
Another youth was drowned in Daya river near Kokadia at Jatni while a youth was drowned at Dhaulimuhan Patharakhani Ghat of Daya river near Khordha.
In Cuttack, two boys went missing at Chahata Ghat while one person died and two others went missing at Gadagadia ghat of Mahanadi river.
In Brahmapur, a youth was drowned while the condition of his associate became critical after they drowned while taking bath at a pond at Ankuli after celebrating Holi.
Following information, the fire brigade team rescued the two youth of which the deceased has been identified as Abhisek Padhi while his associated has been admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
In Jajpur, two persons died after they drowned in Brahmani river at Bari and Barabati while another person went missing while taking bath at Jokadia Ghat of the Kharasrota river.
In Keonjhar, a youth died while another youth went missing after they slipped into the deep waters at Habeleswar Ghat of Baitarani river at Hatadihi block near Anandpur while another youth died while taking bath in a pond at Kenduapada village of Ghatagon block.
In Baleswar, a youth died after he drowned in a pond at Kurudabangara village while another youth died while taking bath in a pond at Bahudinadu village of G Udayagiri block in Kandhamal district.
