Bhubaneswar, Apr 10:

Voting for the first phase of elections in Odisha appears to be picking up with each passing hour despite the scorching April sun, reaching an average of 45% in the 10 Lok Sabha and 70 Assembly seats at 1.45 am.

Two Assembly segments in Angul district – Chhendipada and Athammalick – recorded the highest of 57% polling while Malakangiri unsurprisingly remained at the bottom, recording an average of just 36%, according to sources in the Chief Electoral office (CEO) here.
