Cuttack, June 28:
Former Finance minister Prasanna Acharya, senior Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar (Lulu) Mohapatra and Ama Odisha Party president Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, who lost the last Assembly polls by a very small margin, have moved the Odisha High Court today, challenging the election results in their respective constituencies.
While Acharya had lost to the Congress candidate in Bijepur constituency, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Lulu Mohapatra were defeated by BJD candidates in Khandapada and Brahmagiri constituencies respectively by a very small margin.
The three leaders, who filed separate petitions, have prayed to the court to nullify the election results in their constituency in view of bungling in both polling and counting.
Earlier, on Friday two Congress candidates- Dushmant Nayak and Dasarathi Gamang and BJD candidate Raghunath Sahu had filed similar petitions with the High Court.
Sources said, more such petitions are likely to be submitted by defeated candidates in the next few days.
