BJP Legislature Party in Odisha Assembly today met at the party’s state headquarters in Bhubaneswar under the leadership of its floor leader KV Singh Deo to work on its agenda before the session begins on September 21.

According to information provided by BJP MLA Pradeep Purohit after the meeting, the party will make the failing law and order situation its key agenda during the short session that will have eight working days and will conclude on September 29.

“The law and order situation is falling apart in the state even though the Home Department is functioning directly under the Chief Minister. The party holds the government responsible for the attack on Union Minister Santosh Gangwar, BJD MLA Bedabyasa Nayak and BJP workers near Manmunda. We will demand a debate on it,” said Purohit.

“Besides, incompetence of the government in Dana Majhi issue, failing healthcare system, NFSA irregularities, Gumudumaha firing, Nagada malnourishment deaths and farmer issues will also be highlighted prominently,” he added.

The meeting was also attended by state unit president Basant Panda and other MLAs of the party.

While BJP finished its legislature party meeting today, meetings of ruling BJD and main opposition Congress will be held on September 20, according sources in these parties.

The BJD Legislature Party meeting will be held at 5 PM in the Assembly on the said date and will be chaired by party chief and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. According to BJD Chief Whip Anant Das, the party has notified all its legislators to be present in the meeting.
