Bhubaneswar, Apr 26:
The commissionerate police have decided to open a police outpost inside the premises of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) located in Sijua on the outskirts of the capital city of Odisha.
The decision was taken by the Commissionerate headquarter office here and confirmed by city Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Satyabrata Bhoi on Sunday.
The DCP said the AIIMS authority had demanded earlier the setting up of a police outpost inside the hospital premises.
“The local police station (Khandagiri police station) has shown its ineffectiveness in tackling any untoward occurrences inside the campus. That is the reason such a decision was taken by the city police Commissioner Dr R P Sharma in a meeting held recently,” the DCP said.
