With several projects in Odisha stalled due to various hurdles, including land acquisition and clearances, the Project Monitoring Group ( PMG) of the Cabinet Secretariat today reviewed around 38 projects in coal, railway, power, steel and national high way sectors as part of the efforts to fast track these projects for the development of the state and the country as a whole.
Anil Swarup, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Secretariat, Union government, reviewed the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) Projects in Odisha at a high level meeting attended by government officials and various project developers.
Reviewing the progress of the projects, Swarup, however, said that the considerable progress had been made on different projects and advised to fast track the projects facing impediments.
Stating that Odisha is the first state which implemented the PMG, he said it would expedite forest clearance, environment clearance, land acquisition and other statutory clearances.
Chief Secretary GC Pati set timelines for different activities under each project and asked the project developers as well as the concerned departments to accomplish the task within that period.
Pati also asked the Railway authorities to put barricades and provide passages/underpass for movement of animals along the railway lines that passes through the jungle area.
The issues relating to forest diversion, forest clearances, environmental clearance, permissive possession, possession of acquired land, tree cutting, DGPS survey, FRA & PTG certificates, raw material linkage and power supply etc. were discussed, said sources.
Projects like Haridaspur – Paradeep Rail Link, Rail Connectivity Project for Paradeep Port, RSB Metal Tech Pvt.Ltd., doubling of the Jharsuguda-Rengali railway line, Talcher-Bimlagarh new railway line, Angul-Sukinda new line project, Jharsuguda-Barpalli-Sardega Railway Line, Nataraj (U/G) Mine, IOCL project , Raipur-Ranchi Pipeline, Thermal Power Project of NSL, Lanco Babandh Power Limited, 4000 MW Odisha Ultra Mega Power Project, KVK Nilachal Power Pvt. Ltd, UCM Coal Company, POSCO Steel, , VISA Steel Limited, Essar Steel India, JSPL Angul Steel Project , Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited , Bhushan Steel Ltd, CRNO Project and Jindal Steel & Power were discussed at the meeting.
