Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Union minister of State (Independent Charge) Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday evening and inquired from him the preparedness measures in Odisha to face Cyclone Hudhud, which is expected to have a landfall tomorrow forenoon.
“Hon’ble Prime Minister inquired about the state of preparedness in Odisha to deal with Cyclone Hudhud. He assured me of all possible help to the people and Government of Odisha to face this challenge,” Pradhan said.
Pradhan quoted the Prime Minister as saying that the Centre is committed to assist Odisha so that there is least possible damage to the lives and property of people in the state.
Modi expressed confidence that the spirit and endeavour of people of Odisha will triumph over any natural calamity, the minister said.
Pradhan thanked the Prime Minister for his concern and assurance of assistance to the people and government of Odisha.
