Cuttack, May 24:
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Orissa High Court today over drainage of rain water from Konark temple and its conservation.
The petition jointly filed by Dilip Kumar Mohapatra and Abhishek Das have named state chief secretary, Director General (DG) Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Konark Surakshya Samiti, superintendent ASI, ASI officer-in-charge of Konark, secretary Puri-Konark Development Authority (PKDA), collector Puri and executive officer Konark Notified Area Council as respondents in the case.
The petitioners contended that the conservation of Sun temple which is a world heritage site and is the epitome of architectural excellence of Odia artisans is the responsibility of the government.
