Khordha: A bus carrying picnickers hit a stationary truck near Godipada toll gate in Odisha’s Khordha district late last night injuring 17 persons.
The ill-fated vehicle carrying around 35 persons from Bhadrak was on the way to Taratarini in Ganjam for a picnic. The driver of the bus, who had reportedly consumed liquor, lost control over the wheels following which the vehicle rammed into a stationary truck near the toll gate.
The victims were hospitalised after being rescued by locals and policemen. The injured ones were admitted to Khordha hospital and two of them were later shifted to a private nursing home in Bhubaneswar for treatment.
