Mumbai, Sep 2:
Italian two-wheeler company Piaggio on Wednesday unveiled its 150cc Vespa range of scooters for India.
The new scooters – SXL and VXL – come in two engine variants – 150 cc 3 valve engine and 125 cc 3 valve.
These are loaded with digital instrument console, 11 inch front alloy wheel, broader tubeless tyres, front disc brake and single piece monocoque steel body amidst others.
The cost of 150 cc range begins at Rs.84,641 while the staring price for the 125 cc range is Rs.77,308 (ex showroom Pune).
Brand ambassador and footballer Alessandro del Piero of Italy’s Juventus Football Club unveiled the range of vehicles.
“Vespa and del Piero have a lot of things in common, and they both well represent the excellences of Italy,” managing director of Piaggio India Stefano Pelle said in a statement.
“India is simply an extraordinary country, almost a second home for Vespa after Italy,” the soccer star said. (IANS)
