Simultaneous raids were conducted by Vigilance sleuths at five places including the residence of Public Health Department (PHD) Assistant Engineer Yajna Narayan Patra at Hinjlikatu in Odisha’s Ganjam district on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Berhampur wing of the Vigilance department officials conducted raids at Aska, Polasara, Berhampur and his Hinjilikatu residence.
“We are conducting raids at five places. Raids are still on. We have seized cash, jewellery, bank passbooks and other documents. The exact amount of Patra’s properties hasn’t been calculated yet as raid is still continuing,” Berhampur Vigilance wing DSP Benudhar Naik said.
On the contrary, the accused has rejected the allegations of accumulating property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
“I have not earned any ill-gotten money. The disproporationate assets allegations are false. I have inherited parental property,” Patra claimed.
