Patkura election result: Counting of votes begins

Patkura: Counting of votes for election to the Patkura assembly constituency in Odisha’s Kendrapara district began today.

The counting process commenced at the Kendrapara Autonomous College this morning. A total of 18 rounds of counting will be done for 309 polling booths.

CCTV cameras have been installed in the college to keep a close watch on the process. As many as 12 platoons of police force have been deployed as a part of security measure.

Voter turnout during the election held on July 20 was recorded at 72.69 per cent. The poll results will decide the fate of 10 candidates in fray. BJD candidate Sabitri Agrawalla, BJP nominee Bijoy Mohapatra and Jayant Mohanty of Congress are the prominent candidates.
