Intensifying its investigation into the murder of Seaways Group General Manager Mahendra Swain, Paradip police today conducted raids at two offices of industrialist Mahimananda Mishra-owned Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL).


According to reports, the raids were conducted at OSL’s Angul and Joda offices by two special teams of the Paradip police.

Notably, police had on November 10 conducted raid on the firm’s Paradip office and sealed the company’s bank account. This apart, personal accounts of OSL’s Executive Director Basant Bal, Operation Manager Subash Acharya and Senior Manager Debi Tripathy were also sealed.

Notably, look out circulars have been issued against Mahimananda Mishra and others named in the FIR pertaining to Mahendra Swain’s murder.

It may be recalled here that on October 26 shots were fired at Swain near Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony in Paradip. Two miscreants had hurled crude hand bombs at the SUV in which Swain was travelling. While Swain was fleeing to save himself after alighting from the vehicle, miscreants fired two rounds at him leading to his death.
