Residents of Talagoluru village under Pottangi police limits in Odisha’s Koraput district are in a state of panic following Maoist violence on Saturday night.
Reports said Maoists allegedly destroyed four motor cycles and a tractor in the village by setting them on fire after looting houses especially of the local sarpanch.
The local sarpanch’s wife alleged that the Maoists who raided the village after looting her house took her husband away with them. Three villagers including the sarpanch are suspected to have been abducted by the Maoists, the reports added.
Maoists have left behind posters and banners at the site of violence, local sources informed.
