Cuttack, Dec 11:
A herd of wild jumbos that strayed into the outskirts of the Millennium City on Wednesday morning, trampled a youth of Paikarapur village under Choudwar police limits in the afternoon.
According to reports, the wild elephants from the Chandaka-Damapada forest range crossed river Mahanadi and reached Hadiapatha on the outskirts of the city in the morning hours.
Later, they headed towards Choudwar. On the way, the people of Paikarapur village tried to drive away the herd, which suddenly turned violent and trampled a youth of the village identified as Hemant Nayak.
Till reports last came in, the herd was camping inside the premises of Titagarh Paper Mills.
Following information, a team of forest officials has rushed to the spot.
