Bhubaneswar: Over two dozens public schools are found operational unauthorisedly here raising concern over the future of students enrolled in those educational institutions.
Recently, the Directorate of Secondary Education had issued a notification asking the parents not to admit their children to unauthorised schools.
“The complaints are being received from different quarters that some public schools are running unauthorisedly. Due to lack of information, some parents are admitting their wards in these unauthorised institutions thereby causing problems as a consequence thereof,” the notification read dated December 6.
“The parents are advised not to admit their wards in the schools which have not been granted NOC by the competent authority,” the Director of the Directorate of Secondary Education said in the notification.
However, no action has been taken yet to find out the schools running without obtaining NOC from the competent authorities like CBSE and ICSE in the State capital.
According to reports, hundreds of English medium schools are being operated in Khordha district, out of which only 48 public schools have obtained NOC. Similarly, out of 67, only 38 public schools have been granted NOC by the authorities in Bhubaneswar. The remaining 29 schools are yet to obtain the NOC.
However, no exemplary action has been taken so far against those 29 schools for running unauthorisedly.
