Bhubaneswar, Jan 16:
Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) authorities filed two written complaints today, one in the Crime Branch and another in Khandagiri Police station, against unidentified hackers defacing and posting objectionable content on its official website on Friday evening.
The official website of the OUAT was yesterday hacked between 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening by a hacker identifying himself as ‘Don’, who posted obscene matter on the website’s home page.
After media alerted OUAT Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoranjan Kar about the hacking he had asked officials to shut down the website and take it out from the server immediately as a precautionary measure, according to sources.
Besides, filing complaints in the police station and Crime Branch, the university authorities have called the website designer to look into the matter.
Interestingly, on December 29, the website of the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Ganjam district http://www.rtoganjam.com/ was hacked. But the matter came to light only on January 3.
The website defacement had been claimed to be done by Abbas Abraham, a Pakistani hacker.
