OUAT ragging: Odisha’s Commissionerate Police serves notice on 12 seniors

The Commissionerate Police of Odisha capital today issued summon on 12 senior students of OUAT for allegedly ragging juniors. The students have been asked to present themselves within next 14 days.

The notice has been issued based on the complaint lodged by the guardians of the junior students of Forestry Department of OUAT (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology).

On the other hand, the OUAT authorities yesterday announced to rusticate of five senior students and take disciplinary action against the other ten as we reported here.

The university has asked the accused senior students to present themselves before the disciplinary committee so that they can present their sides and the committee can question them further. The final action by the university authorities would be announced within a day or two.

Notably, 10 to 12 junior students of Forestry department had complained of ragging by senior students on Tuesday as we reported here.
