The third edition of Odisha Premier League (OPL-III) will be held from March 20 to April 1, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced on Sunday.

The decision was taken at the OPL governing council and OCA Tours and Tournaments Committee meeting here.
The tournament will have a total of eight teams each having 20 players while there will be five grades of players consisting of 160 players (Grade-A: 32, Grade-B: 32, Grade-C: 32, Grade-D: 32 & Grade-E: 32), OCA said.
A player of Grade-A would receive Rs 50,000 while a Grade-B player would get Rs 40,000, Grade-C Rs 30,000, Grade-D Rs 20,000 and Grade-E Rs. 10,000.

All the teams will be divided into two groups comprising of four teams. Each group will play two league matches at Barabati stadium and another venue to be decided later.

There would be two matches daily. The first match would begin from 3.30 pm and end at 6.30 pm and the second from 7 pm to 10 pm under floodlighst.

The top two teams from each group will play semi-final matches at the Barabati Stadium. The losers of both the semi-finals will play for the third place.

The final match will be played at Barabati Stadium on April 1 under floodlight.

Arrangements have been made for the live telecast of the final match.

The cash award for the champion team is Rs 3 lakh while the runners up would get Rs 2 kakh and the team securing third position would get Rs 1 lakh.

The Man of the Match award for all the 28 matches would be Rs 5000 and the Man of the Tournament would get Rs 25,000.
The meeting also decided to host the first edition of the Odisha Premier League for Women, which will be held from March 25 to March 31.

A total of four teams will participate in the tournament with each team having 15 players.

There will be three grades of players consisting of 60 players. A Grade-A player would get Rs 30,000, Grade-B Rs 20,000 and Grade-C Rs 10,000.
All the teams will play two league matches. There would be two matches daily. The final match will be played on March 31 at Barabati Stadium under floodlight.

Arrangements have been made for the live telecast of the final match.
The cash award for the champion team has been fixed at Rs 1 Lakh, runners up-Rs 50,000, Player of the Match of every match-Rs 5,000 and Player of the Tournament-Rs 10,000.
The meeting also finalized the schedule for other domestic tournaments that would be played in Cuttack.
While U-16 Inter District would be held from January 10, the Kalahandi Cup would begin from February 20, U-19 Inter District from February 1, Women’s Inter District from March 10 and U-14 Inter District from March 20.

OCA has invited all the firms and companies of the public or private sector of the state for sponsorship of the entire OPL-III or any one of the teams or venue or to be the media partner.
