One person was killed and 40 others, including women and children, were injured when a tourist bus in which they were travelling overturned near Dhauli on the outskirts of Odisha’s capital city this afternoon.
According to reports, a tourist bus from Nadiya in West Bengal, carrying over 50 passengers, had gone to the hill-top Dhauli Shanti Stupa earlier in the day.
However,while returning to the National Highway- 203, the bus overturned when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The injured were pulled out of the bus by local people before the police arrived at the accident site.
The injured were admitted to the Capital Hospital. However, at least 12 of the injured have been referred to the SCB Medical Collegege & Hospital in Cuttack.
