A worker died and two others seriously injured after a slab of an under-construction fly-over fell on them at Rasulgarh Square in Odisha’s capital city on Wednesday night.
According to eyewitnesses, construction work of the fly-over was underway when a slab of the fly-over which was being put in place with the help of a crane suddenly caved in and fell on Manoj Samal, a worker, who was working under the fly-over.
Samal, who sustained grievous injuries, died on the way to the Capital Hospital.
The two other workers—Raju Mana and Bikram Pradhan—who were working on the bridge, also sustained multiple fractures on their chest and back.
The duo was rushed to the Capital Hospital from where they were shifted to Apollo Hospital as their condition became critical.
Another person, Asutosh Sahu, who escaped with minor injuries, was discharged from the Capital Hospital after a first-aid, reports said.
