Commissionerate Police today arrested a youth identified as Saukat Sarkar of Kolkata, for cheating job seekers aspiring for jobs in a private bank in the city.
According to Inspector-in-charge of Kharavel Nagar Police station Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, Saukat Sarkar impersonating as an officer of a private bank had duped two unemployed persons by promising them jobs with a good salary in a private bank in the city.
Prsadhan said, Sarkar used to travel to Bhubaneswar every month and dupe job aspirants by promising them jobs and collecting hefty sums from them.
“Acting on a complaint lodged by Sibadatta Mohanty of the city we set up a trap and managed to nab him. He has been forwarded him to the court today,” the IIC said.
“We have also seized Rs 20,000 from the accused, the amount Sarkar had collected from two job seekers,” he added.
