OJM president Pyari Mohan Mohapatra while releasing the party manifesto said the party will provide employment and self-employment to 30 lakh youths including 20,000 from each Assembly constituency.

“The BJD government had promised to provide jobs to 10 lakh unemployed youth in the 2000 polls, 29 lakh in 2004 and 15 lakh in 2009. But, the government forgot all about it after coming to power. OJM will put pressure on the government to provide either employment or self-employment to 30 lakh youth,” said the manifesto.

Coming down heavily on the Naveen Patnaik government for the farmer suicides, the party has promised to give privide pension to farmers once they are 60.

OJM has also promised to provide loans at 1% interest and to halt the process of supplying water meant for farmers to industries.

The party will, if voted to power, apply an innovative standard called the minimum prosperity level (MPL) in place of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) to measure poverty and ensure all such families receive benefits for their uplift.

The party also promised to accord Panchayat status to every revenue village if it comes to power.
