OJM gets ‘Kite’ symbol

The Election Commission of India has allocated ‘Kite’ ( Gudi in Odia ) as the party symbol for the new regional outfit Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) led by former BJD leader Pyari Mohan Mohapatra.

Mohaptra made the announcement on his return from New Delhi on Thursday. Party workers had turned up at the airport with ‘kites’ in their hands to welcome their leader.

OJM will put its newly acquired  symbol to good use during its campaign for the ensuing Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation ( BMC ) polls, a source in OJM said.

Talking to reporters, Mohapatra said a six-member committee, led by Mihir Mohanty, hds been formed for selection of party candidates for the civic body polls.
