Baleswar, July 17:
A meeting between officials of Odisha and West Bengal today failed to resolve the inter-state border dispute pertaining to the establishment of a marine police station on the Udayapur beach.
The meeting was held between the district collectors of Baleswar Arvind Agarwal and Antara Arya of Midnapore, besides other officials of the two district administrations. But no solution could be found as both sides stuck to their respective stands.
The inter-state border dispute between the two states had turned nasty as West Bengal officials had objected to construction of a marine police station at the Udayapur beach claiming that the map showed it to be within West Bengal territory.
