Internationally acclaimed sand artist from Odisha, Sudarsan Pattnaik has set his eyes to register his name in Guinness Book of World Records for creating the tallest sandcastle.

Pattnaik is all set to sculpt a 50-feet-high sand fort at Puri sea beach here for which he has already initiated preparations.

The sand sculpture will be created on an area of half acre at the sea beach near Hotel Mayfair here. Required amount of sand is being gathered at the spot through dozer.

The current Guinness world record of tallest sandcastle is 13.97 m (45 ft 10.25 in) tall and was created by Ted Siebert (USA) of the Sand Sculpture Company and a crew of 19 on behalf of Turkish Airlines, in Virginia Key Beach, Miami, Florida, USA, on 27 October, 2015.

“I hope my sand art will break the record and bring laurels to the country,” Pattnaik said.
