Bhubaneswar, May 25:
Students of SCB Nursing School have decided to put on hold their 18-day old agitation after holding discussions with Odisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak here today.
SCB Nursing School students were on agitation demanding the dismissal of the principal and lifting of sine die from the school.
“Earlier we had met higher officials but none had taken our complaints with seriousness. Today Health Minister assured us that he will very soon take steps on our demands. We trust his words. We are putting our agitation on hold for some days. If no steps are taken we will again resort to agitation,” said a nursing student.
Nursing students had yesterday held a demonstration in the state capital at Lower PMG square demanding the lifting of sine die from their school and removal of the principal.
The agitating students had met the additional secretary of the Health department and had submitted a memorandum of their demands for the Health Minister.
