Odisha’s popular FM station Radio Choklate turns 10

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, May 4:

The 10th anniversary of Eastern Media’s widely popular radio station Radio Choklate – 104 FM Dhoom Meetha was celebrated with much pomp and gaiety here at Sambad Bhawan.

The birthday bash involved a formal cake-cutting ceremony and speeches followed by wishes to take the No 1 FM channel of Odisha to new heights.

Starting its journey on the same date ten years ago in 2007, the first private Odia FM channel has turned a household name in the state.

While the channel has won Golden Mikes Awards for its programme, it has also scripted history by airing 12 hour long live commentary of world famous chariot festival in Puri.

“Ten years appear to be really a long time. But, it passed away as if it was yesterday. Radio Choklate has always tried to offer something new. It has been our endeavour to reach out to the listeners with the flavor and culture of Odisha packed in an entertaining mode. We are not only No 1 in competition, but in the hearts of people too. I would like to thank our listeners without their support we couldn’t have reached here,” Tanaya Patnaik, Executive Director of Radio Choklate said.
