“Achyuta Samanta has been giving financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 per month to Sashimani since the last six years. Samanta had also provided Rs 50,000 for her treatment when she faced an accident, which had resulted in severe fracture of her ankles,” said Sasimani’s adopted son Somanath Panda in a press release.

Samanta had requested his mother not to declare his name in public about the assistance. Sashimani, however, wanted to divulge Samanta’s name for his kindness, Panda informed.

“As my mother is in the last stage of her life, she wished to divulge Samanta’s name for his kindness and support,” said Somanath.

He also said that Samanta had sent Satyabrat Dash of Dasbidyadharpur, Sakhigopal to visit Sashimani Devi to inquire about her health and give some financial assistance after getting the news about her accident from newspaper.

Dash met her at her Puri residence and gave Rs 50,000 at that time and had informed Samanta about her miserable condition following which Samanta had also arranged for a maid servant to help her.

Dash continues to visit Sasimani frequently and take care of her health.
