Cuttack: The Kunduli gang rape survivor was admitted to ICU at Medicine department of SCB Medical College & Hospital here after her condition deteriorated today.
A seven-member special team of doctors led by Dr Pravat Padhi and comprising the doctors of medicine, anesthesia and cardiology departments was constituted for treatment of the victim at the hospital.
The survivor was brought to SCB Hospital yesterday from Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital in Koraput after she vomited blood.
Her condition was found unwell on Saturday in Kotpad where she was accommodated by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
According to reports, blood was found in the vomit following which she was immediately rushed to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital for treatment. After her condition deteriorated there and she vomited blood twice and thrice, she was shifted to the SCB in Cuttack late on Saturday night.
Notably, the class-IX student of Kunduli in Koraput district was allegedly gang raped by a group of security personnel on October 10 while returning from school.
A case under Sections 376 (D) and 377 of IPC and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had been registered.
