Odisha’s KK Parida today took charge as the director (Finance) of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), the second largest coal producing company in the country.
A native of Jamapara village in Kendrapada district, Parida has an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the coal industry behind him .
He had joined Coal India in 1981 at the Barkakhana Area under Central Coalfields Limited (CCL).
Prior to joining as director (Finance) of MCL, Parida was the general manager (Finance) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), the Bilaspur-based sister company having operations in Chhatisgarh.
He had held key appointments for treasury management, cost and budget, taxation, finalisation of tenders, major contracts under contract management cell and as an associate member of finance in projects and planning.
Born in a family of farmers, Parida did his graduation in commerce from the Kendrapada College and became a member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI).
He has travelled to Sweden, Germany and Switzerland for higher management course.
