The National Youth Congress would conduct elections to various posts of the Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC), from September 9 to 12, party sources said.
Informing this at a press meet here on Wednesday, Sunnit Khanna, election in-charge of OPYC said a total of 2,12,464 Youth Congress members would cast their votes across 31,617 polling booths in the state.
There would be five youth leaders elected from every booth who would in turn elect 10 youths from among them in each Assembly constituency.
The assembly-constituency level leaders would elect 10 from among them in each of the 21 Lok Sabha segments and the elected leaders would then elect five state Youth Congress leaders, Khanna informed.
The five seats include the president, vice-president and three general secretaries (one each reserved under OBC/Minority, SC/ST and women category).
Talking about the poll schedule, Khanna said nominations would be filed for the booth committees on September 5 and 6 (till 2 PM) while the scrutiny would be done from 3PM on September 6.
The eligible candidates would be allocated symbols on September 7, he added.
