Odisha youth bags ‘Mr Moustache’ title in Jaisalmer

Kanhu Charan Mishra (37), a jawan of the Indian Army hailing from Odisha has won an unusual title ‘Mr Moustache’ at the national level moustache competition held at the recently concluded three-day Maru Mahotsav (Desert Festival) at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.


Mishra hailing from Madhusudanpur under Soro police station limits in Balasore district has also stood first in the ‘Camel Fashion Show’ held at the festival.

Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission acting chairperson H R Kuri and Rajasthan DGP Navjeet Singh have felicitated Mishra and presented him with gold medals, citations and cash award at a special function for his achievements.

The ‘Desert Festival’ was held from February 20-22 at Jaisalmer which was attended by thousands of tourists both from India and abroad.

Mishra who had joined the country’s defence forces 17 years back is currently serving in the Indian Army at Jodhpur.  The uncanny idea to grow his moustache to this length came to Mishra five years back.
